Who we are
KubeSprout is published by Kubespark. This policy covers the website at kubesprout.com, the browser game at kubesprout.com/play, and the KubeSprout app for iPhone. Questions go to hello@kubesprout.com.
What we collect
When you sign up for the beta
- Your email address, anything you type in the optional note, and the time of the request.
- The address is used to send you one receipt and, later, your invitation. We don't send anything else.
When you create an account
- Your email address and the way you sign in: a password, Google, or Apple. With Google or Apple sign-in we receive your email address and a sign-in token from them; we don't ask for your contacts, photos or anything else.
- The farmer name you choose. Other players see it on the Exchange and in the game, so pick something you're happy to share.
While you play
- Your farm: crops, animals, buildings, inventory, coins, Gems, skills, quests, festival progress and your orders on the Exchange. This is the game's save file, stored on our servers so it follows you between devices.
- A record of what your farm gained and spent. We keep this ledger to keep the player economy honest and to fix mistakes. Other players never see it, and inside it you are identified by a code, not by name or email.
- If you turn on notifications, the device token your phone or browser gives us, so we can tell you when a harvest or an order is ready. Turn notifications off and the token is no longer used.
- Technical logs. Like every online service, our servers record the IP address, time and outcome of each request for a short period. We use them to protect against abuse, for example to limit how many sign-up requests one connection can make, and to find bugs.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no data brokers.
- No analytics or tracking scripts on the website. The site sets no cookies. The skill planner in the player guide remembers your build in your own browser's storage and never sends it to us.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't use it to build a profile of you.
Who processes it for us
- Google Cloud and Firebase host the game servers, the database and sign-in, in the United States.
- Resend delivers our emails, so it processes your address when we send one.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google", under their own privacy policies. Apple also handles TestFlight and the App Store.
These providers act on our instructions and don't get to use your data for their own purposes.
Other players
The Exchange is a shared market. Other farmers see the orders you post, at the prices you set, and your farmer name. Nobody sees who they traded with, and price history is built only from completed trades.
How long we keep it
- Your farm and account stay until you delete them. This is a beta, so farm progress and beta items will be reset before a wider release; we'll say so in advance.
- Beta sign-up requests are kept while the beta runs so we can send invitations in order.
- Server logs are kept for a short, fixed period and then discarded.
Deleting your account
Open Account in the game and choose Delete account. It removes your farm, your open orders, your notification registrations and your sign-in, and it can't be undone. If you can no longer sign in, email hello@kubesprout.com from the address on the account and we'll do it for you. To be removed from the beta waitlist, email us the same way.
Children
KubeSprout is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and note it on the site. Continued use of the game after a change means you're fine with the new version.
