The Exchange is one giant order book shared by every farmer. You post what you want to buy or sell and the price you’ll take; orders match on their own, even while you’re asleep.
Placing an order
- You have six slots, shared between buys and sells. A finished order keeps its slot until you collect it.
- Pick an item, a quantity (up to 10,000) and any unit price you like. Collectibles trade one at a time.
- A sell order escrows the goods; a buy order reserves the full price in coins. Cancel any time to get the remainder back.
- Orders last seven days, then expire back to you.
How prices are set
- Best prices match first, then older orders. The older order sets the price: if you bid 12 and a seller was already asking 10, you pay 10 and the difference comes back to you.
- Sellers pay a 2% listing fee (at least one coin) when the order is placed, and 4% tax on each fill.
- Nobody sees who they traded with. The price guidance shown for each item comes only from completed trades, and says so when history is thin.
Limits during the beta
To keep the market honest while it is small, each account has a per-item allowance per four-hour window. Orders past the allowance queue and match after the window resets. Rare and Legendary crops have their own, much smaller allowances.
What trades
Ordinary crops, Rare and Legendary crops, eggs and milk, wood and stone, planks, charcoal and bricks, meals, Hatchets and Pickaxes, crop displays, and tradeable festival keepsakes. Player names, seeds, animals and account-bound items do not.
The shop is the floor. The farm shop always buys crops at its fixed price, so nobody needs to sell below it. Anything the shop won’t buy, like planks and bricks, is worth exactly what another farmer will pay.
Prices, timers and rewards are the beta’s current values and will change as the economy is tuned.
